Our methodology

How we collect pricing data

All pricing is collected directly from official provider websites, app store listings, official terms documents, and official FAQ pages. We do not accept pricing data directly from providers without independent verification, and we do not use third-party data feeds unless they have been reviewed and approved.

Every price point is linked to its source URL, dated at the time of verification, and assigned a confidence level. Pricing that cannot be confirmed from official sources is marked accordingly.

How we calculate true costs

Standard pricing shown on marketing pages often understates the true cost. Our calculation engine adds enrollment fees, setup fees, device costs, and required add-ons to produce a true first-year cost and a renewal-year cost.

Promotional pricing is shown alongside standard pricing. We always display the post-promotion price and clearly indicate when a promotion expires. We do not use promotional pricing as the default comparison figure.

All formulas are documented in our codebase and reviewed for accuracy. Providers cannot pay to change how their costs are calculated.

How preference matching works

Our matching questionnaire collects your stated preferences — budget, billing preference, desired features, commitment tolerance, and category-specific needs. We then score each eligible plan against those preferences using a transparent, rule-based algorithm.

Match scores reflect how closely a plan satisfies your stated preferences. For each result, we explain which preferences were satisfied and which were not, and we identify trade-offs.

Affiliate compensation does not affect match scores. A provider with an affiliate relationship cannot receive a higher match score because of that relationship. The matching algorithm is reviewed whenever new providers are added.

How we verify freshness

Wellness pricing and policies change frequently. Pricing that has not been reviewed within 60 days is flagged for re-verification. Terms that have not been reviewed within 90 days are flagged similarly.

Every published data point displays the date it was last verified. We show a caution indicator when pricing may be outdated. Users can submit corrections through our correction form, and all submissions are reviewed by a researcher before any change is published.

What we do not compare

We compare factual, publicly available information: pricing, membership tiers, features, access, contract terms, cancellation policies, and service structure. We do not compare clinical outcomes, efficacy, or medical benefits. We do not recommend wellness services for specific health conditions, diagnoses, or treatment needs.

All comparison content is informational. Nothing on this platform constitutes medical advice.

The exact numerical weights used in our confidence scoring are kept internal to prevent manipulation.
